Warranty Information
Our Warranty Promise
At Planeta Woodworking, we take pride in the quality, craftsmanship, and durability of every piece we build. Our furniture is made to be used and enjoyed, and we stand behind our workmanship.
Every qualifying piece of Planeta Woodworking furniture includes our 1-Year Craftsmanship Warranty. Customers may also purchase an optional Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty for $500 at the time of purchase.
Standard 1-Year Craftsmanship Warranty
Our standard warranty is included with qualifying furniture purchases and remains valid for one year from the original date of delivery or customer pickup.
This warranty covers defects resulting from our materials or workmanship under normal residential use.
Optional Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty — $500
Customers may upgrade to our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty for a one-time fee of $500.
The Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty extends the same covered structural and workmanship protections for the lifetime of the original purchaser's ownership of the furniture.
The Lifetime Warranty is:
- Available only at the time of the original purchase unless otherwise approved in writing by Planeta Woodworking
- Non-transferable
- Valid only for the original purchaser
- Subject to the same care requirements, exclusions, and warranty claim process outlined below
The Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty does not mean the furniture is protected against all forms of damage for life. Coverage applies specifically to qualifying defects in workmanship, construction, and structural integrity.
What Our Warranty Covers
Structural Defects
Failure of joints, structural components, or construction methods under normal intended use, including loose or unstable joinery or structural separation.
Workmanship Defects
Problems resulting directly from the original construction, assembly, or workmanship performed by Planeta Woodworking.
Material Defects
Material failures that significantly affect the structural integrity or intended functionality of the furniture.
If a covered issue is confirmed, Planeta Woodworking will determine the appropriate remedy, which may include repairing the furniture, replacing an affected component, refinishing an affected area, or replacing the piece when repair is not practical.
What Our Warranty Does Not Cover
Our Standard and Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranties do not cover:
Normal Wear and Tear
Scratches, dents, scuffs, finish wear, fading, minor checking, and other cosmetic changes resulting from ordinary use.
Finish Damage or Routine Refinishing
The warranty does not provide lifetime coverage for the furniture's finish. Damage caused by normal wear, spills, heat, chemicals, abrasion, scratches, or improper cleaning is not considered a structural or workmanship defect.
Environmental Conditions
Damage, movement, warping, cracking, twisting, bowing, or other changes caused by excessive or insufficient humidity, extreme temperature changes, direct heating or cooling sources, water exposure, or improper storage.
Solid wood naturally expands and contracts as environmental conditions change. Minor seasonal movement, gaps, checking, and dimensional changes are normal characteristics of natural wood and are not necessarily defects.
Improper Use or Maintenance
Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, excessive weight, standing or sitting on furniture not designed for that purpose, improper cleaning, harsh chemicals, standing water, excessive heat, or failure to follow recommended care instructions.
Natural Characteristics of Wood
Variations in grain, color, texture, knots, mineral streaks, small checks, and other naturally occurring characteristics are not considered defects.
Accidental Damage
Damage caused by impacts, pets, children, moving, transportation, burns, spills, flooding, or other accidents is not covered.
Third-Party Transportation or Moving
Damage caused after delivery by movers, freight carriers not arranged by Planeta Woodworking, homeowners, contractors, or other third parties is excluded.
Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications
Repairs, modifications, refinishing, alterations, or disassembly performed by anyone other than Planeta Woodworking without prior written authorization may void applicable warranty coverage.
Submitting a Warranty Claim
If you believe your furniture has a covered defect, please contact Planeta Woodworking as soon as the issue is discovered.
Please provide:
- Your name and original order information
- A description of the issue
- Photographs or video clearly showing the concern
- Any relevant information regarding when and how the issue occurred
Planeta Woodworking may request additional photographs, measurements, information, or an in-person inspection before determining coverage.
Warranty Resolution
If Planeta Woodworking determines that a claim is covered, we will select the most appropriate method of resolution based on the nature of the issue.
This may include:
- Repairing the affected area
- Reinforcing or rebuilding a structural component
- Replacing an affected component
- Refinishing an affected portion when necessary to complete a covered repair
- Replacing the furniture if repair is determined to be impractical
Planeta Woodworking retains the right to determine whether repair or replacement is the appropriate remedy.
Transportation, Delivery & Access
Warranty coverage applies to the covered repair or replacement itself unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Transportation, pickup, redelivery, shipping, freight, installation, removal, moving expenses, or special site-access costs may be the responsibility of the customer.
Customers must provide reasonable access to the furniture if an inspection or repair is required.
Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage, customers are expected to properly use and care for their furniture and follow Planeta Woodworking's recommended care and maintenance instructions.
Reasonable indoor temperature and humidity levels should be maintained to minimize excessive seasonal movement of solid wood.
